Kinga Boda is a healthcare cover that protects you against medical costs in the very unfortunate event that you get into an accident.
The cover is specifically for you and can only be used by you. Once you have identified yourself with your active Kinga Boda account at the hospital, your bills will be covered directly up to your limits. There is no need for out-of-pocket payment in case you still have your limits!
Kinga Boda is a product from M-TIBA & AAR Insurance Kenya. M-TIBA will be your point of contact for all your questions & services.
What is Covered Under Kinga Boda?
Medical costs related to accident
Limit: 50,000 Ksh.
Daily compensation during hospitalization as result of accident
1,000 Ksh per day (max 30 days per year)
Income compensation in case of temporary disability as result of accident
1,000 Ksh per day (max 30 days per year)
Compensation in case of permanent disability as result of accident
Limit: 50,000 Ksh.
Pay out in case of fatal accident
Limit: 200,000 Ksh.

For Emergencies

- Our emergency team will dispatch an ambulance, stabilize you and get you to the nearest Kinga Boda accredited facility.
- Identify yourself as Kinga Afya member and treatment will be initiated
- The hospital will request pre-authorization
For Non Emergencies
- Go to your preferred provider from per the M-TIBA provider panel provided
- Identify yourself as a Kinga Boda member and start treatment
- The hospital will request pre-authorization and start service provisio
For After Care
In event of an admission: please contact M-TIBA (0800 721 253) minimum 48 hours prior to the admission to be supported.
In case of regular follow up care: visit your preferred provider as per the M-TIBA provider panel provided.

Kinga Boda FAQs
Kinga Boda M-KOPA is an accident and medical cover for M-KOPA riders. Kinga Boda only covers medical costs related to accidents that involve your M-KOPA bike
Along with medical insurance, Kinga Boda also provides other benefits like last expense, accident and evacuation cover and permanent disability compensation
In the event that you are hospitalized due to illness or injury, this benefit provides you with a financial buffer to enable you to take care of your day-to-day needs since you will be away from work. The income compensation will start after being longer than 24hrs in the hospital
In the event you are unable to work because of injuries linked to the accident, this benefit provides you with a financial buffer to enable you to take care of your day-to-day needs. This should be confirmed by your doctor and agreed upon by the M-TIBA medical team
M-TIBA is a platform to access healthcare services, while AAR is an insurance company providing medical cover under Kinga Boda.
- Dial *253# (both Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom on the number registered on KINGA BODA)
- Enter M-TIBA PIN (or press 1 if you have forgotten your PIN)
- Select “My M-TIBA”
- Select the payment method: “Kinga Boda M-KOPA”
- Press 1 to initiate treatment
- Select recent clinic (1, 2, 3) or enter facility till number (e.g., 465004)
- Select the patient to be treated
- Select the cover you want to utilize
- Press 1 to Authorize
- You will receive an in-app message and an SMS with a transaction number
You can add one dependent per M-KOPA bike. To add a new dependent, contact the M-TIBA support desk after removing the previous one.
Yes, you must verify your treatment by scanning your fingerprint at your chosen healthcare provider before they start the treatment.
