21st August 2025, Nairobi, Kenya – M-TIBA, Kenya’s leading health insurance technology platform, has been awarded Blue Company Certification, becoming the latest firm to join a growing network of organisations committed to upholding highest standards of ethical business conduct, integrity, and transparency.
The Blue Company Project is an initiative that rallies private sector players to embrace integrity and ethical business practices and currently brings together 657 members drawn from diverse sectors.
“Going Blue for us means embedding trust and best practices not only into our technology but also into our governance and culture,” said Pieter Prickaerts, Group CEO, CarePay International and M-TIBA.
“As we work with insurance partners to make health insurance more accessible, intuitive, and easier for Kenyans, this certification reinforces our commitment to transparency and integrity, while enabling us to collaborate better, innovate jointly and build a culture of trust across the industry.”
This recognition of M-TIBA follows its recent ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its Information Security Management System, issued by an independent international body. The ISO certification ensures that M-TIBA’s systems undergo regular audits, strengthening data security, compliance, and alignment with global best practices.
While speaking during the certification event, Blue Company Project Advisory Board Member Dr. Julius Kipng’etich noted that M-TIBA’s entry into the network is a testament to the growing momentum among organizations that are committed to advancing ethical business practices in Kenya. He emphasized that the collective efforts of such companies will accelerate the shift toward a culture of integrity and trust in the private sector.
“We are delighted to welcome M-TIBA into the Blue Company network. The coming together of like-minded organizations that value integrity and ethical practices is crucial in shaping a business environment built on trust. When companies unite around these principles, they not only strengthen their individual brands but also play a vital role in embedding a culture of integrity across our economy and society,” said Dr. Julius Kipng’etich.
With this new certification, M-TIBA joins a growing network of organizations committed to creating a safer, more transparent business environment. For Kenya’s fast-growing insurtech ecosystem, this milestone underscores the company’s long-term commitment to building trust, accountability, and innovation in healthcare access.
